First Visit to Dr. Tripp's Office
We welcome new patients and will be excited to see you for your first visit. Please call 630-393-4600 to schedule your appointment. We'll be happy to mail new patient forms.
Prior to Your First Visit
To complete your exam, X-Rays are needed. We can take them, you can bring them, or you can have your previous dentist mail them to us. By mail, contact your previous dentist, and request that the X-rays be mailed to:

If you are not comfortable contacting your previous dentist, call us at 630-393-4600 and if you provide the name and phone number of your previous dentist, we can make arrangements for transfer of X-Rays.

At your First Dental Appointment
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early so that we can process your information.An Initial Dental Exam and Cleaning
At your initial dental appointment, we carefully and thoroughly examine your mouth so that we can prevent problems from occurring. During this appointment, we:
- Review your health history and patient information
- Check for oral cancer
- Screen for periodontal problems
- Take a full set of X-rays if they have not been provided
- Examine your teeth
- Clean your teeth
- Floss your teeth
- Educate you on flossing and brushing techniques
We anticipate that the initial checkup and cleaning appointment for a new patient may take up to 1.5 hours, and subsquent exam and cleaning appointments will take about an hour. We feel that this service is extremely important to your dental health and therefore we allow enough time to do a thorough job.
If you find that you need to cancel your appointment, we do appreciate at least 24 hour notice.
An Emergency First Visit
If the first visit is an emergency, we will- Take a medical history
- Do an exam, focusing on the area of concern
- Take X-Rays targetted to the problem area
- Treat the problem or refer to a specialist, depending on the situation
